Chris Olave developed into one of college football’s best wide receivers at Ohio State from 2018-21, and the late Dwayne Haskins was a big reason why. Monday on The Rich Eisen Show, Olave opened up on Haskins’ impact during the then-freshman wideout’s springboard 2018 campaign.
“He’s one of one, man,” Olave said. “When you meet a guy like Dwayne, his light just shines everywhere he goes and always a kind dude, always want to talk and just vibe. I feel like everybody’s going to miss him, and Dwayne, really, who he was.”
“I came in at 17 to college, so he gave me that boost of confidence,” Olave added. “So just being around him, he boosted the whole room up just with his energy and his confidence and his mindset. So that really helped me, being on the same field as him, and especially looking up to him as a leader that year. That helped me a lot. So he kind of boosted my confidence.”
