ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College Athletics has hired Cori Welch as the department’s Assistant Director of Sports Information. Welch will assist Director of Sports Information Matt McLagan in covering the 21 athletics programs at Macalester.
“We are excited to have Cori join the athletics department at Macalester,” McLagan said. “Cori gained great experience at Loras College learning from Emily Adlfinger, Loras’ highly respected SID, and we are thrilled to have Cori continue her career in sports information at Macalester.”
Welch comes to Macalester from Loras College where she served as a student worker for two and a half years in the Duhawks’ athletic communications department. She aided Adlfinger in promoting all of the school’s athletic programs. Some of her responsibilities included photography, livestreaming, social media, and website management. During her time at Loras, Welch worked closely with the Diversity and Inclusion group to create LatinX Night for the soccer programs, where they promoted the various Latin cultures within the program.
