A man was fatally shot at an outdoor boxing match in Florida after a confrontation between two groups of people, police said.
The man died of his injuries at a hospital Saturday night, and two men and two women also were wounded, the St. Petersburg Police Department said in a news release.
The shooting took place outside a strip mall where a temporary boxing ring had been set up. About 200 people were at the boxing match when the confrontation started between two groups of attendees, the news release said.
Detectives were still figuring out how the match was organized.
“We still have to do some homework and find out how the boxing match was put on, what permits they had, promoters, etc,” Yolanda Fernandez, a spokeswoman for the St. Pete Police Department, told television station WFLA.
