After the 2021 college football season, Josh Gattis chose to leave his post as offensive coordinator at Michigan for the same role at Miami. Evidently, he loves the fit and the culture that Mario Cristobal has brought to the Hurricanes.
Speaking to the media during spring practice, Gattis raved about the staff and the atmosphere that Cristobal has created in his short time as Miami’s head coach. Gattis noted that he has experienced coaches all around him if he needs advice
“The culture together as a staff has been amazing,” Gattis said, via InsideTheU. “First off, before you can build culture, it’s got to start with chemistry. And the chemistry has been phenomenal. We have an unbelievable staff. I’m honored to work on this staff every day.
I walk down the hall and I’m picking off the brain of Kevin Steele and Charlie Strong, two phenomenal defensive coaches, right. You’ve got Jason Taylor, right. You look in their in the offensive room with the offensive staff and we have coach (Alex) Mirabal, coach (Frank) Ponce, coach (Kevin) Smith and coach (Stephen) Field.
