Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, in an expected move, declared for the 2022 NFL Draft. The Heisman Trophy finalist announced the decision Wednesday in a letter on social media.
“I spent years visualizing the actual moments that unfolded in my final season at Michigan,” Hutchinson wrote. “November 27, 2021 was 10 years in the making and could not have been a more unforgettable night with my brothers. They proved with me and time again this season that nothing is impossible and the 2% is still the 2%.
“My UM family, you are amazing. You rallied through some tough losses with unwavering support. It was such a gift to witness the deserved joy and excitement of fans who waited almost 20 years for a championship season.
“To all my coaches, you believed in me and I believed in you. That was life-changing. The impact of experiencing great coaches and even better men is rare and I will always be indebted to you.
To my family and friends, who showed up for me week after week, praying and supporting — it meant the world. I can’t imagine this journey without my parents and sisters. The endless support, love and fun doesn’t end here. We’ll walk that walk with each other for life.”
“My Michigan time is complete, and it was truly the best time of my life Onward and upward to the 2022 NFL Draft. Thank you for everything, Wolverine Nation and beyond … Breathe in God and forever go blue!”
