Spider-Man: No Way Homemade a whopping $610 million in profit for Sony. Co-produced by Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures (a sub-division of Sony), No Way Home is the 27th overall film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the third Spider-Man movie featuring Tom Holland as the titular webslinger alongside his trusty sidekicks Ned (Jacob Batalon) and MJ (Zendaya). Since its opening weekend on December 17, it was clear that No Way Home would be a phenomenal financial success.
In its first weekend in theaters, No Way Home grossed $260 million domestically, beating out Avengers: Infinity War as the second-highest opening weekend of all-time behind Avengers: Endgame. The Spider-Man movie continued to break records by overtaking No Time to Die as the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of the year worldwide and soon after, it crossed the $1 billion mark in just 12 days, the only movie to do so since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. No Way Home‘s last notable achievement was surpassing Avatar to become the third-grossing movie ever at the domestic box office.
